Libby was found laying in a patch of shade at Wright Patman Lake in Texarkana on one of the hottest days this summer. It appeared that she did belong to someone at one time as the mark of a collar was present but the collar had been removed. She had a slight limp in her front leg. This may mean she was tossed out to fend for herself. We will probably never know her story but we can help her with the next chapter. Libby enjoys being outside, gets along well with other dogs, cats and children. She has had all her shots and is spayed. She has tested heart worm negative and has been started on preventative. Libby LOVES the water! She will drink straight from a hose and dive right into our little pool. She will fetch, sit, lie down, crawl and other tricks! If you are interested in adopting Libby please contact us for a application. Honey – BAAC Rescue Dog – Prospect Wolcott Veterinary, CT Heartworm treatment and fluids were provided for Honey, a BAAC Rescue who is emaciated and suffering from heartworms. Honey has a long road ahead of her but we are optimistic she will pull through and be able to find a loving forever home. Please consider donating towards Honey's care today. She is also looking for a foster or furever home! Aimee, female pit bull mix – Saugerties Animal Hospital, NY B.A.A.C. stepped up and sponsored Aimee’s full vet care if a rescue stepped up and took her in. With the economy in dire straits, rescues are being hit even harder. With our sponsorship, a rescue was able to step up and bring her to the vet for the much needed care. Amie was another throwaway mom, who came into the shelter as an emaciated stray. This six year old Staffordshire Terrier is very sweet though, despite her tough beginnings (she was rated No Concern by the vets on intake). She has a lovely fawn and white coat with big expressive eyes, and once she gains some weight (she only weighed 39 lbs.), she'll look truly beautiful. Her personality is very friendly and cooperative, she likes being walked, is good on the leash, and she enjoys being petted and touched. Aimee is currently under the care and being fostered by B.A.A.C. Please consider donating toward Aimee's care. She is also looking for a foster or furever home! UPDATE!! AIMEE has been adopted!!!! |
